David Layton Cinematography

Welcome to David Layton Cinematography. We’re a filmmaking operation specializing in cinematography, producing, and directing. David is a Director of Photography of feature documentaries, commercials, docuseries, narrative features, live events and industrials. He is also a Director and a Producer.

 

David was born in Austin and grew up in Philadelphia. After college he followed his father into journalism briefly but then returned to Austin and got into filmmaking when the city was a hotbed for independent films and good crews. After working on some interesting documentaries early on, he developed a life-long love for that medium and for travel in the service of cinema. He remains fascinated with cinematography as a craft and an art form.
